Melon, Juan Canary

Juan canary melons are oblong shaped and ripen to a bright canary yellow color.  It is best to purchase a vine ripened Juan canary melon, as they seem to take a long time to ripen on the countertop.  When fully ripe, they are very aromatic and the ivory or whitish flesh is sweet.  The flesh may also take on a pinkish tinge near the seeds.  We could not find specific nutritional information for the Juan canary melon.
