About Rosemary

This herb grows on a small evergreen shrub belonging to the Labiatae family that is related to mint. Its leaves look like flat pine-tree needles, deep green in color on top while silver-white on their underside. Its memorable pine-like fragrant flavor and unique health benefits makes it an indispensable herb for every kitchen.

While the flavor of this herb is wonderful, many people don’t like the way the leaves remain somewhat hard in the cooked food. To solve this problem, we grind the leaves in our blender with any water of veggies that are called for in the recipe, and add this pureed mixture to the recipe.

Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean, but is now grown in many temperate regions of the world, including the United States.  See recipe suggestions and the nutritional chart below.

Some background information:

Over the years, people have been asking us, “What do vegans eat?” This is probably because they first think about a flesh product first and everything else as a side dish. So, we began publishing the huge variety of plant foods that are available for us to eat in this section of our web site. Additionally, we are always on the lookout for something new to add to our collection and experiment with to incorporate into our meals. We have also found that eating mostly unprocessed plant foods make us much more healthy.
