Apples, Zestar are one of the newer varieties of apples. They are early crisp apples with a sweet-tart taste.
About Zestar Apples:
Zestar® apples are one of the earliest maturing apples, and unlike most other early apples, the Zestar® has a crispy texture with a wonderful sweet-tart taste, and the crispiness lasts for a couple of weeks when refrigerated. They are a great eating apple, but unfortunately, we haven’t seen them in any supermarkets. We bought ours at a farm store. Zestar® apples are as new variety that was developed by the University of Minnesota, as a hybridization of State Fair x MN 1691 apples, and introduced in 1999.

Some background information:
Over the years, people have been asking us, “What do vegans eat?” This is probably because they first think about a flesh product as the main meal, and then think about everything else as a side dish. So, we began publishing the huge variety of plant foods that are available for us to eat in this section of our web site. Additionally, we are always on the lookout for something new to add to our collection and experiment with to incorporate into our meals. We have also found that eating mostly unprocessed plant foods make us much more healthy.
