Peaches

Peaches have a wonderfully sweet flavor when they are ripe.  When a peach is ripe it has a creamy yellow and red color, as pictured.  Select peaches that are beginning to get soft.  Very hard peaches may not ripen properly, and green peaches will not develop their proper flavor.  Peaches can be ripened on the kitchen counter, but ripe peaches should be stored in the refrigerator.  (See enlarged photo of a peach half)
